Corruption can it be
cured? The 13th of January SIPU in
collaboration with Tiri hosted “Corruption can it be cured?” -
an international seminar on making anti-corruption work.

A specialist panel was invited to elaborate
their views, perspectives and experiences on corruption from
the horizon of their own work. The panel consisted of
Ivan Krastev, Augustin Nzindukiyimana, Michela Wrong, Harald
Mathisen and Ari Kokko.
They answered questions from both the
moderator, Fredrik Galtung - Chief Executive and co-founder of
Tiri, and some of the participants. In the afternoon
group discussions were held to dig deeper into the
multiple forms and causes for corruption.
This offered an opportunity for the heterogenic
group of participants to add their own knowledge and wide
experience to the further discussions.
 The rest of the
panelists: Harald Mathisen, Michela Wrong, Ari Kokko and
Ivan Krastev.
Panelist Augustin Nzindukiyimana, Deputy Ombudsman of
Rwanda in charge of fight against corruption, gave a special
presentation on the long and short term anti-corruption
activities and measures taken by the Rwandese
government.
In total over 70 people from
various organisations with a wide geographic spread attended
the seminar. More detailed information, including video
coverage from the seminar will be uploaded during the upcoming
weeks. Read more
