EU-funded Tax Administration project launched in Montenegro

SIPU International, in a consortium with the Swedish Tax Agency and Eurecna, is honoured to have been awarded the contract “Improving capacities for better efficiency and functionality of the Tax Administration work in accordance with European standards” in Montenegro funded by the European Commission. The project will run for 12 months with a budget of 800 000 EUR.

The purpose of the project is to assist the Government of Montenegro in strengthening the fiscal system in its process off accession to the EU. The project entails activities relating to the elaboration of legal framework following a gap assessment against the relevant acquis; and capacity building of the key operational systems and functions of the tax administration, primarily revenue collection and enforcement; tax audit; administrative cooperation and mutual assistance; and also fighting fraud and tax avoidance.
